10 Australian Unique Things

My post is to tell the rest of the world what are 10 unique things about Australian life. Hope you learn something new.

1. The Platypus- You can’t find a Platypus in any other country but Australia. The Platypus is also on our 20c coin.

2. Steve Irwin is a famous animal conservationist.

3. Sydney Harbour Bridge is found in the suburb of Darling Harbour, Sydney,New South Wales.

4. The Barbe- BBQ is a thing that you cook meat and vegetables. But the Aussies call it the Barbe.

5. The Sturt Desert Pea is the South Australian floral emblem.

6. Vegemite is a brown paste you put on your toast, sandwiches or just eat it out of the jar.

7. Qantas is an Australian owned airline and is major in Australia.

8. AFL (Australian Football League) is a sport where you have a oval shaped ball and you kick in to goals. Most states play AFL.

9. The blue Mountains is a world heritage conservation park west of Sydney, New South Wales.

10. Cathy Freeman is a very successful athlete who has competed in some olympic games.

    Hi Stacey,

    I love reading about Australian BBQ. You guys cook food differently than we do, and seeing the BBQ on your list made me look up some recipes to try here.

    Steve Irwin was a great Aussie. I’m surprised he never got bitten by a croc!!!
